Pre-Kindergarten


Providing every 4 year-old child in Florida a high quality Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program



      

 

 

 

 

 


Requirements:

  •   Child must be age 4 by September 1 of that school year
  •   NASP: State pays for 3.5 hours (8:30 am-12:00 pm) Monday—Friday
  •   Corry: State pays for 4 hours 8:30 am– 1:30 pm on MWF or TR
  •   Parent pays for additional hours
  •   Schedule follows the public school calendar

    Highlights:
  •   High quality educational program
  •   540 instructional hours during the school year; 300 instructional hours during summer
  •   Free for all four year-olds
  •   Sponsored by Early Learning Coalition @ www.vpkflorida.org
  •   Instructors must have a minimum of a Child Development Associate’s or BA Degree
  •   Ratio is 1 instructor to 10 children; class size not to exceed 18
  •   Curriculum focuses on early literacy skills and prepares children for kindergarten      
      based on State Board of Education standards
