As of Aug 1, 2009, fishing on base does require a fishing license.
Fishing tackle and poles can be rented at Sherman Cove Marina. 
Fishing areas are set by the NASP Commanding Officer and are subject
to change.  Ask at the marina or call security (452-2654) if in doubt. Fishing is
allowed on the seawall west of Fischer Ave to Duncan, and behind Portside Club.
Fishing is allowed at Lake Frederick and Trout Point. It is allowed on the beach across
from NATTC and east of Bayou Grande Picnic Center and at Serenity Point behind
Bayou Grande Marina (some fishing gear rental available at that marina) There is no
fishing from the Piers at the end of Radford and no fishing after sunset / before sunrise.
